Greyson was born on August 19, 1987 and died on July 4, 2022. His death was a direct result of a homophobic doctor’s violence against him during a medical procedure.
Greyson was an older brother, an uncle, a son, and a loving partner. His family was so very proud of his achievements and his courage to live life authentically.
Must be attending a Canadian college or university in Ontario or be a resident of Ontario and attending a Canadian college or University anywhere in Canada as a full-time student in the year that they are applying for the scholarship.
Preference will be given to applicants whose character is reflective of qualities that Greyson Jones demonstrated in his life: tenacity, bravery, generosity, integrity, and compassion.
Confirmation of full-time enrollment in an accredited Canadian college or university degree/diploma program.

Two letters of character reference ( anyone of your choice who is not a relative).
The Greyson Jones Memorial Scholarship is open to all people identifying as transgender, agender, non-binary, or otherwise gender non-conforming who are attending a full-time program at a college or university this coming semester. Previous applicants are welcome to reapply.

The selection committee is comprised of three representatives of Fairy Godparents-London, and a representative of the family of Greyson Jones.
The selection committee will consider the following criteria in determining the recipient of the scholarship:
Significance of the contribution to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and/or the viability of the planned contribution
Work or volunteer experience related to serving the community
Character references provided by the applicant
Overall presentation and professionalism of the candidate’s application submissions.
Applicants may be requested to attend an interview with the selection committee
All applications, supporting documentation, essays, videos, artwork, etc, submitted become the property of Fairy Godparents-London. The scholarship winner’s submission may be published by the committee together with details of the winner provided it is safe for the winner.
